KAPALUA, Hawai'i – Led by a career-best round from junior Kyleigh Moreno, Santa Clara women's golf scored its lowest round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic to finish the three-day tournament in ninth place with a 912 total.

Moreno carded her first sub-par score with today's 2-under 70 and climbed 25 spots on the individual leaderboard to finish in a tie for 34th place at 13-over 229. "Kyleigh played really well today," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "It was fun watching her round."

As a team the Broncos scored below 300 for the second time in 12 spring rounds, finishing the day at 11-over 299. They were, however, unable to make up any ground on the teams in front of them. No. 7 UCLA, one of five competing teams ranked among the top-42 in the Golfstat.com poll, won the team title by 17 strokes over No. 4 Arizona State.

"We scored better today despite having some big numbers," Kelly added. "Our ball striking and scoring was great on the back nine, which is where we started."

Junior Kristin Le was the top individual finisher for the Broncos placing in a tie for 22nd at 8-over 224. Freshman Chloe Wong shot a final round 4-over 76 to end in a tie for 29th at 11-over 227.

Isabella Salant and Annie Freman both shot a 78 on Tuesday. Salant ended the tournament tied for 47th with a 233 total while Freman placed in a tie for 58th at 236.

The Broncos will compete in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic beginning Apr. 6, their final event before the WCC Tournament.

"We are on the right track and will be focusing on our short game for the next two tournaments," Kelly said. "I believe we are in a position to peek at the WCC Championship. I'm seeing a lot of good things."
