SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis looks to build on its win last weekend at Cal Poly when it faces Fresno State this Saturday. The Broncos and Bulldogs square off at 10 a.m. PT at Degheri Tennis.

"We're looking forward to playing Fresno State," head coach Ben Cabell said. "They are a really strong team but we have a lot of confidence after our win at Cal Poly so it should be a competitive match. "

The Broncos enter the weekend with a 2-3 record after winning its lone road match of the season last weekend at Cal Poly by a score of 5-2.

"I think what was nice is that we played well in doubles and then the bottom of our lineup really stepped up against Cal Poly in singles," Cabell said. "Winning on courts four and six was huge. We're going to need to play well in the bottom of our lineup if we're going to continue winning matches."

Sophomore Madison Clarke is 4-0 on court two this season, picking up a win against UC Davis and now owns an eight-match winning streak dating back to the fall. Senior Nabila Farah has also won six of her last 10 matches dating back to the fall and is 3-1 on court three this season.

Senior Daniella Silva and Clarke are 2-2 on court one in doubles action this season. The Broncos also paired freshman Delaney Nothaft with Farah on court three and they won their second-ever match together. Nothaft joined the team in January and Cabell feels she will be a good lift to the squad.

The Bulldogs of Fresno State are 3-4 on the season but will play Stanford on Friday before heading into Saturday's match against the Broncos. Their three wins came against Sacramento State, Utah and Eastern Washington. Juliane Triebe is 5-1 during the dual season while Galina Bykova and Emma Wilson are 4-0 in doubles play during dual matches.

PARKING: On Friday, parking on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive. During the weekend, campus parking facilities are free (except for permit required locations). Click here for a campus map and parking restrictions.
