Women’s Tennis Loses 6-1 to Fresno State

 SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis fell to Fresno State on Saturday at Degheri Tennis Center by a score of 6-1. Sophomore Madison Clarke won on court two for the Broncos, bringing her singles winning streak up to nine matches.

Fresno State earned the doubles point with a win on court three and then claimed a win on court two when Santa Clara's pairing of senior Nabila Farah and freshman Delaney Nothaft had to withdraw due to injury.

Clarke was the lone win on the day for SCU. She defeated Galina Bykova on court two, 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. She has now won nine consecutive singles matches dating back to the fall and is 5-0 in dual match play this season.

SCU returns to action next weekend at Degheri to face Western Kentucky on March 11 at 11 a.m. PT and San Jose State on March 12 at 12 p.m.
