SCU 1 of Just 2 WCC Schools to Receive NCAA Public Recognition Award Eight Straight Years; 4 Bronco Teams Honored This YearJune 06, 2013Santa Clara University was joined by Gonzaga University as the only two school’s from the West Coast Conference to earn Public Recognition Awards, based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate. The Public Recognition Award was given to 61 schools who placed at least one team on the list each of the past eight years. These awards are given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent plus ties in each sport. In addition, this year four Bronco teams were honored for their APR's: women's tennis, women's outdoor track, women's rowing and women's water polo.

Seven California Universities to Form Water Polo ConferenceJune 03, 2013LOS ANGELES – Seven universities from the state of California have come to agreement to form a new collegiate women’s water polo conference that will begin competition in the spring of 2014. The new league, which will be called the Golden Coast Conference, will feature Azusa Pacific University, California Baptist University, Fresno Pacific University, Loyola Marymount University, San Diego State University, Santa Clara University and University of the Pacific.

Broncos set to Host WWPA ChampionshipsApril 23, 2013After closing out their regular season at Sonoma St. last weekend, the Broncos are ready for postseason play. Santa Clara (14-16 overall, 5-2 WWPA) has earned the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 seed Cal St. Monterey Bay on Fri., April 26 at 2 pm. Five Broncos Named All-Conference in Women's Water PoloApril 22, 2013Five Santa Clara women's water polo players have been selected by conference coaches to the All-Conference WWPA team named on Monday. Freshman Julia Peters (San Jose, Calif./ Presentation) was one of two freshmen to make First-Team WWPA All-Conference, while seniors Stephanie Clements (San Carlos, Calif./ Sacred Heart Prep) and Alison Norris (Saratoga, Calif./ Saratoga) and junior Claire Eadington (Corona Del Mar, Calif./ Corona Del Mar) were named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Elizabeth Anderson (Palo Alto, Calif., Gunn) was named to the WWPA All-Freshman Team.

Santa Clara beat Colorado State 11-9 and then defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 12-10 at the Sullivan Aquatic Center on the Santa Clara University campus.
