SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Santa Clara's men's water polo team lost both matches during the first day of the Slugfest Tournament in Santa Cruz, falling to Whittier in overtime 11-10 and UC San Diego 14-2.
Statistics of the two contests are not yet available.
With the defeats, the Broncos' record falls to 3-7 on the season.
The Slugfest Tournament continues with the Broncos playing two matches each on Saturday and Sunday. Tomorrow, Santa Clara plays host UC Santa Cruz at 1 p.m. and UC Davis at 5 p.m. On Sunday, the Broncos take on Washington at 11:40 a.m. and Cal Baptist at 2:20 p.m.
