Water Polo Falls to UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz at NorCal Tournament

STOCKTON, Calif. - Santa Clara's men's water polo team fell to UC Davis 7-6 and UC Santa Cruz 6-4 to close out play at the Northern California Water Polo Tournament, hosted by the University of Pacific.

With the defeats, the Broncos are10-14 on the season.

Junior Jay Moorhead led the Broncos in this morning's match, posting three goals against the Aggies. Senior Jeff Kopacek added two, while senior Brian Sprouse recorded the final score. Santa Clara was led defensively by senior goalkeeper Matt Petrich's eight saves.

Against UC Santa Cruz, one goal each was scored by Moorhead, seniors Matt Reilly and Jeff Raegen, as well as freshman Kenny Flanagan. Petrich added 11 blocks to his totals.

The Broncos will return to regular-season action against UC Davis on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Davis. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m.
