Two Broncos Earn All-WWPA Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Seniors Kenny Flanagan-De La Hoz and Peter Moore both earned recognition from the Western Water Polo Association after the conclusion of the 2004 season. Flanagan-De la Hoz was a Second Team All-WWPA selection, while Moore was chosen as an All-WWWP Honorable Mention.

A native of San Jose, Flanagan-De la Hoz was an instrumental part of the Broncos earning a national ranking during the season as he spearheaded the offense in the senior season. Heled the team in 2004 with 46 goals in 33 matches. He also ranked second on the squad in both steals (45) and assists (26).

Over his four years with the program, he established himself as one of the top all-around performers in school history. Flanagan-De la Hoz ranks among the top-five in three categories for SCU. On the offensive side, he will leave SCU as the all-time leader in assists with 66 over his career. He also ranks fourth in goals with 136. On the defensive side, his 176 career steals rank second in the Bronco record books.

Moore was a four-year starter in the cage for the Broncos. His career started as a freshman in 2001 when he made 14 starts as the Santa Clara goalkeeper. Upon becoming an upperclassman, Moore was the Bronco's everyday starter, making 110 starts and playing over 3,000 minutes in the cage over the course of his career.

In 2004, Moore recorded 307 blocks in 835 minutes of action. One of the Santa Clara captains, he also recorded 28 steals. The Pasadena, Calif. native posted a 9.56 goals against average in 2004 while facing 479 shots in 30 matches.

The Broncos posted a 10-23 record in 2004 and achieved a national ranking multiple times during the season. The team also reached the WWPA Championships, finishing eighth in the tournament.
