Men's Water Polo Concludes Season at WWPA Championships

Nov. 20, 2004

DAVIS, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's water polo team dropped its final game of the season, falling to the Air Force Academy, 9-6 at the Western Water Polo Association Championships in Davis, Calif. Santa Clara ends its season with a 10-23 record.

"Today was a tough match," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "We had a tough, long match last night. We just didn't have the same energy. However, we gained a lot of playoff experience this week. We plan on being back here next year with all of our juniors, sophomores and freshmen returning."

Six different Broncos scored in the contest. Grant Allison, Kevin Starry, Josh Early, Charlie Moore, and Danny Soares each found the back of the net for SCU. Senio Kenny Flanagan-De La Hoz also scored in his final contest as a Bronco.

Fellow senior Peter Moore had a solid final collegiate outing. Moore posted eight saves in the season finale.

Along with Moore and Flanagan-De la Hoz, Mark Perlite and Mark Oda each played in the final matches this week in Davis.
