SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The home finale of the 2019 dual match season awaits Santa Clara women's tennis when it hosts San Diego on Friday and BYU on Saturday in West Coast Conference action.

Fresh off a trip to Hawaii where it split its matches against Hawaii Pacific and the University of Hawaii, the Broncos (4-9, 0-4 WCC) play five straight WCC opponents starting this week.

"San Diego is much improved this year as they are ranked No. 38 in the country.  And we will definitely enjoy playing BYU at home instead of indoors and at an altitude like we played them last season in Provo," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.  "The key for us will be our doubles play and to continue to see improvement."

San Diego (12-2, 3-0 WCC) will come to town riding a 10-match win streak including the last three against WCC opponents.  The Toreros are led by Solymar Colling, the No. 58-ranked singles player who paired with Maria-Paula Torres is the No. 54-ranked doubles team in the nation.

BYU (9-6, 2-1 WCC) will face San Francisco on Friday prior to its match against the Broncos on Saturday.  The Cougars are 1-5 in true road matches as Santa Clara will look to improve upon its 3-4 record at home.
