Katy Schatzman Prepares For Her Senior Year

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – San Jose native Katy Schatzman (KS) is keeping herself busy this summer, working for a local company as well as training hard with her summer volleyball workouts. SantaClaraBroncos.com (SCB) checked in with Schatzman to see how she's prepping herself this summer before heading into her senior season.

SCB: Do you have any big plans this summer?

KS: I am working at Egnyte in Mountain View, Calif. this summer. I'm really enjoying this opportunity to work at such a new company and learn all about their business.

SCB: What is your usual go-to summer workout?

KS: My go-to summer workout is SPARTA. Our trainer Phil Brady is awesome and we get the opportunity to drive out to Menlo each Tuesday and train with him. Chloe Sliger and I have also been hitting up Malley and lifting with our new freshman Natasha Calkins.

SCB: How are you feeling heading into your senior year?

KS: This final season is bittersweet. I am very excited for the season, as I am finally a senior, and our team is looking really good. We have been training hard this off-season and all the hard work is definitely paying off. I can't wait for season to start!

SCB: Is there anything you are trying to work on this summer before season starts up?

KS: I have really focused on keeping up on the workouts and improving overall strength and conditioning to prepare for the season. With double days only a month away, I've just been working out and playing as much as I can.

SCB: Have you set any goals for the up coming season yet?

KS: WIN the WCC!
