SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After picking up a Golden Coast Conference road win Thursday against Fresno Pacific, the Santa Clara women's water polo team closes out the regular season Saturday when it plays host to No. 17 Pacific.

Saturday's game against the Tigers (13-16, 5-1), which gets underway at noon in Sullivan Aquatic Center, will be the final home appearance for seniors Elizabeth Anderson, Sydni Estrella, Erin Sheridan and Elle Surber.

Seeding in next week's GCC Tournament is locked up, though a win by the Broncos (10-13, 3-3) will enable them to finish in a fourth-place tie in the standings.

Pacific will be the No. 2 seed and the Broncos will be fifth since Loyola Marymount (11-18, 4-3) won the regular-season matchup between the teams.

Regardless, the four seniors want to end their home career with a win. That group has logged significant time the last four years.

"We have a really good senior class," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "All four players came to us as freshmen and they were ready to play then. Sydni had to wait a little longer for her opportunity as a goalie, but Erin, Elizabeth, and Elle all got significant playing time as freshmen."

The senior class leads the team in nearly every statistical category.

Surber (36) and Anderson (29) rank first and second, respectively, on the team in goals. Surber also leads the team in steals (24) and is second in kickouts drawn (37). Anderson has the most kickouts drawn with 43. Sheridan leads the team with 32 assists and ranks second in steals (17). Estrella is the No. 1 goalie, though missed time with injury.

"It's a really talented class that has been a core group of our team for all four years," Wilbur said. "We're going to miss them, but we still have a couple weeks to make one more run with that group."

The Broncos will play in the GCC Championship beginning Friday, April 29 at San Diego State.
