In the first weekend of competition for Santa Clara's cross country teams, the men finished fourth and the women finished fifth at the USF Invitational in San Francisco, Calif. The USF women won the women's meet and Cal finished as the victors on the men's side. Santa Clara will compete with a full squad on both sides on Sat., Sept. 12 at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento, Calif.

The men in particular did a very good job of that with an eight second spread between the 1st and 5th scorers for us," said Bronco associate head coach Felipe Montoro. "The men ran a very young team and we were happy with their results. Tom and I are very pleased with the direction of both teams and look forward to competing next weekend in Sacramento."
