AS A SENIOR IN 2008: Tri-captain ... started all 55 games at third base ... tied for third in hit by pitch (6) and tied for fourth in sac bunts (3) ... tallied his first home run of the season and drove in three runs on two hits against K-State (Feb. 23) ... had one run, one walk and one RBI against Pacific (Feb. 27) ... posted two runs, a double and a stolen base against San Jose State (Feb. 29) ... had one hit, one run, one RBI and one double against Frestno State (Mar. 4) ... went 3-for-5 with one run and two RBIs against Cal Poly (Mar. 12) ... went 2-for-5 in game one of the doubleheader against UC Davis (Mar. 15) with his second home run of the season ... posted two RBIs and had two runs, including a solo home run against UC Davis (Mar. 16) ... tallied two runs in game one against Cal Poly (Mar. 22) ... his two-run double brought in the game winning run against then-No. 14 San Diego (Mar. 30) ... hit is first collegiate grand slam against Pacific (Apr. 2), posting a career-high four RBIs ... tied his career-high six at-bat appearances while scoring one run and driving in another against Portland (Apr. 5) ... tied his career-high two walks at Fresno State (Apr. 22) ... registered his fifth home run of the season against UHH (Apr. 27) ... registered his sixth home run of the season and drove in three runs against then-No. 3 Stanford (Apr. 28)  

AS A JUNIOR IN 2007: Named All-WCC honorable mention ... one of only three Broncos to appear in all 56 games, starting 55 ... finished eighth in WCC with a .343 batting average ... led SCU with 71 hits, 15 doubles, and 37 runs scored ... also hit three home runs with 33 RBIs ... went 4-for-4 in season opener at Hawaii on Jan. 26 ... turned in 23 multi-hit games on the year ... doubled twice against the Rainbow Warriors on Jan. 27 ... drove in three runs on a pair of hits against Utah on Feb. 3 and at UC Davis on Feb. 16 ... hit first home run against Aggies ... went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs against Cal Poly on Feb. 23 ... drove in two runs in 3-for-3 effort at San Jose State on March 4 ... doubled and drove in three runs at San Francisco on Apr. 7 ... hit a two-run homer Apr. 14 against Gonzaga ... went 3-for-5 with a double against No. 6 San Diego on May 12 ... hit his third home run of the year against the Toreros on May 13.  

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: Started 21 of 37 games in which he appeared ... batted .253 with seven doubles, a home run and 12 RBIs ... put together a nine-game hitting streak from Feb. 21-March 10 ... went 16-for-36 (.444) in that span with five doubles, a homer and seven runs batted in ... had two hits in five of those contests and three hits in another ... went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored on April 5 against Cal.  

AT DE ANZA: Played for head coach Scott Hertler ... batted .320 on the year and was named first-team All-Coast Conference.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose, Calif. ... played baseball for head coach Jesse Tamez ... was named first-team All-League as senior ... batted .410 his senior season ... also played soccer at Mt. Pleasant ... a four-time first-team all-league selection with the soccer team ... earned Outstanding Class Athlete Award his sophomore and senior years.

PERSONAL: Born in San Jose, Calif. ... son of Jose and Sylvia Alcantar ... has two older sisters, Gina, 30, and Margarita, 24 ... hobbies include sports, math and music ... goals are to earn a degree and play professional baseball.
