SUMMER 2008: Played for the Harwich Mariners in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League where he finished third in the Cape in hitting with a .352 average, totaling 16 RBI in 32 games ...he was honored by the CCBL as a member of the 2008 All-League team ... SUMMER 2007 - USA NATIONAL TEAM: Played for the USA National Team the summer after freshman season, joining the top freshman and sophomore collegiate baseball players in the country in competing in the Pan-American Games in Brazil and the World Port Tournament in the Netherlands ... also played in the 36th Annual USA vs. Japan Collegiate Championship Series in Durham, NC, where Medica enjoyed a great deal of success against international pitching, launching his first home run of the summer over the famed Durham Bull ... helped Team USA go 11-5 in its pre-Pan-American Games schedule, which included series' against Chinese Taipei and Japan ... at the Pan-American Games, Medica and the Americans reached the Gold Medal Game before losing to Cuba, Medica went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the semifinal win over Brazil.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007: Turned in a spectacular rookie campaign in 2007, capturing the West Coast Conference batting title with a .373 average en route to being named to both the All-WCC First Team and All-Freshman Team ... Collegiate Baseball 'Louisville Slugger' Freshman All-American ... Baseball America Freshman All-American ... All-Ping! Baseball Freshman Team ... despite missing 11 games and parts of three others due to a hand injury that shelved him for a month early in the season, Medica managed to hammer out 60 hits on the year, including nine doubles, four triples, and a home run ... he also drove in 23 runs while scoring 32 ... appeared in 44 games, starting 41 ... had multi-hit games at Hawaii on Jan. 28, and against Utah on Feb. 2 and 4 ... suffered a hand injury Feb. 9 at San Diego State that forced him to miss 11 games and serve in pinch-hit capacity for three others ... returned to lineup full-time on March 10 at Fresno State ... began a 13-game hitting streak at Portland on March 30 with a 3-for-4 effort that included two doubles and three runs scored ... streak last from March 30-April 21, in which he batted .518 (29-for-56) with six doubles, three triples, six RBIs, and 13 runs scored ... batted .706 with a double and two triples in four games over the week of Apr. 2-8, including a 5-for-5 effort at San Francisco on Apr. 7, and earned WCC Player of the Week and Collegiate Baseball News National Honor Roll recognition ... hit safely in 22 of 23 games from March 30-May 8 ... went 3-for-4 with a double and career-high six RBIs against Fresno State on Apr. 24 ... tripled and drove in three runs against Loyola Marymount Apr. 29 ... went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and runs scored at Stanford May 1 ... went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, his first at the collegiate level, in the season finale against Sacramento State on May 20.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, Calif. ... West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL) MVP leading Bellarmine to the Central Coast Section (CCS) title as a senior ... also named a All-WCAL First Team player, Bellarmine's team MVP, and was honored by The Mercury News on its All-CCS First Team ... in 2005 Bellermine ranked No. 1 in the WCAL and went to the playoffs ... named All-WCAL First Team player in 2005 ... 2004 All-WCAL Honorable Mention ... played for Coaches Gary Cunningham, Tom Medica, Al Bacosa and alongside current Santa Clara teammate Nate Garcia while at Bellarmine ... participated in the 2004 AAU Junior Olympics and USA Baseball Junior Olympics ... 2005 Summer Series Wood Bat Tournament player ... in 2006 invited to USA Baseball Junior National Team Trials.
