Crew Completes Competition At Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Santa Clara University men's heavyweight eight finished fifth in its semifinal heat to complete its participation in the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta Saturday afternoon on the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park.

The Broncos covered the course in a time of 6:40.66, just behind Lehigh and ahead of Loyola. The University of Michigan won the heat in the fastest qualifying time. The Wolverines went on to win the Richard O'Brien Trophy in a championship final time of 6:12.27.

The Dad Vail Regatta is the largest collegiate regatta in the United States, with over 100 colleges and Universities from the U.S. and Canada. Thousands of student-athletes visit the city of Philadelphia during the weekend of the second Saturday of May.
