Men's Golf Finishes 17th at Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's golf team placed 17th in its first tournament of the season, the Pacific Invitational.

San Diego State won the event with a 19-under-par 845. Individual medalist honors went to California's J.R. Ruda. The Broncos posted a 77-over-par 941 with senior Drew Corwin the top SCU finisher, tying for 67th place with a 14-over 230.

The two-day tournament covered 54 holes. The Reserve is a par-72 layout measuring 7,000 yards.

Santa Clara will be in action again in two weeks, traveling to Thousand Oaks for an Oct. 16-17 Tournament at CS Northridge's Wood Ranch Golf Course.
