Ahasic Places Men's Golf in Second at Aztec Invitational

Oct. 30, 2000

MURRIETA, Calif. - Sophomore men's golfer Justin Ahasic is currently in first pace with a seven-under-par 137, as the Broncos are in second place heading into the final round of the Aztec Invitational, held at the SCGA Member's Club in Murrieta. The two-day tournament covers 54 holes. The Member's Club is a par-72 layout measuring 7,060 yards.

Ahasic posted a career-low 67 to open the tournament and followed with a second-round 70. He finished his day with what head coach John Kennaday called an "awesome shot."

"He was 115 yards out and had to shoot into the wind and over a bunker," he said. "He knock it in there. He just played in the present the entire day and followed a good game plan he set for himself.

The Broncos will conclude fall season play with the final round of the Aztec Invitational tomorrow morning.
