Men’s Soccer Travels To San Diego State For A Nonconference Matchup
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer travels to southern California this Saturday for a nonconference matchup against Pac-12's San Diego State at the SDSU Sports Deck.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
The SDSU contest will be the final nonconference regular season match and the start of four straight road matches for the Broncos.  
 
Santa Clara is coming off a gut wrenching 4-3 loss in overtime against Pacific on Wednesday, after racing to a 3-1 lead early in the second half.  It was Santa Clara's first conference loss of the season (2-10-0, 2-1-0 WCC).  
 
San Diego State (4-9-0, 0-5-0 Pac-12) is also coming off an overtime loss, going down 2-1 against UCLA.  
 
SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 11-6-2 all-time against San Diego State with the first meeting coming in 1976. The last meeting between the two programs occurred in Cameron Rast's first season as head coach in 2002 when the Broncos defeated the Aztecs 5-1.

THE BRONCOS (2-10-0, 2-1-0 WCC)
In Wednesday's match against Pacific, the Bronco goals came from Nate Shue, Valdemar Andersen and Javier Ruiz Duran.  Santa Clara has scored three or more goals in each conference game, topping out at four goals in the win against Saint Mary's and three goals in the win against San Francisco and the Pacific loss.  
 
With a goal on Wednesday, Valdemar Andersen shares the team lead in goals with five, along side Carlos Delgadillo.  For Andersen, it was the third consecutive game, all conference matches, that he has scored a goal.  In all, seven different Broncos have scored a goal this season tallying 21 goals in total.  
 
For the season, the Broncos have started four goalkeepers.  Henning Jolivet has led the way starting six matches allowing 17 goals while making 23 saves.  However, Dakota Havlick has started the last three matches after starting the season opener, for a total of four starts on the season. Havlick has a 2.74 goal-against average.  Seamus Hudnut started the second match, allowing two goals while being credited with one save.  And in the third match, Aran O'Brien allowed two goals and making four saves.  
 
THE Aztecs (4-9-0, 0-5-0 Pac-12)
San Diego State is coming off a 2016 campaign which saw it reach the NCAA tournament for the ninth time in program history.  The Aztecs returned six starters and 13 letterwinners from that squad.
 
Jeroen Meefout leads the Aztecs with four goals and is tied for the team lead in assists with three along with Dallin Cutler.  
 
Offensively, SDSU has scored 10 goals in 13 matches, having been shutout seven times.  
 
Defensively, the Aztecs have two clean sheets and six games with one goal allowed.  On the season, SDSU has given up 20 goals.  
 
Adam Allmaras has started in 12 of the 13 matches at goal carrying a 1.56 GAA with two shutouts to his credit to go along with his 3-9-0 record.
