Men’s Soccer Heads To LMU On Sunday
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer plays its final regular season road match at Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.  The Broncos currently sit in sixth place in the West Coast Conference standings with seven points, three behind conference leader Portland with two matches to play.  
 
Santa Clara will finish its regular season at home against San Diego on Nov. 11.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 25-12-9 all-time against Loyola Marymount with the first meeting coming in 1981. The last meeting between the two programs occurred in 2016 when the Lions defeated the Broncos, 2-0.

THE BRONCOS (2-12-1, 2-2-1 WCC)
Santa Clara is coming off a weekend where it gave up just one goal in two road matches in the Pacific Northwest.  
 
Last Friday, the Broncos fell to league leader Portland, 1-0, despite outshooting the Pilots 17-6, including a 6-2 advantage on shots on goal.  
 
And against Gonzaga, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw.  
 
The Broncos have amassed 10 goals in the four league matches, while allowing eight.  
 
Five of the ten nonconference opponents that Santa Clara faced are currently in the RPI top-40.  They include: No.21 Maryland, No.19 SMU, No.29 Washington, No.39 Cal and No.5 Indiana.  
 
 
THE LIONS (3-11-2, 1-4-0 WCC)
Loyola Marymount is coming off a weekend in Northern California with a pair of losses, falling to Saint Mary's 5-0 and to Pacific 1-0 in double overtime.  
 
The Lions are 3-3-1 at home on Sullivan Field.  
 
Offensively, LMU has scored 12 goals in 16 matches this season having been shutout in nine matches.  Alvaro Madrigal leads the team in goals with three and points with nine.  John Bovill leads the team in assists with four.  
 
Defensively, the Lions have allowed 30 goals in 16 matches.  
 
Goalkeeper Collin Partee has started in 12 matches and has a 1.80 goals against average while making 69 saves on the year to go with one shutout.
