FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore Frederico Mattioli and the doubles tandems of Ryan Livesay/Mike Bruggemann and Michael Duong/Adam Lewis fell in semifinal action this morning at the eighth annual Wathen/Hancock Bulldog Classic in Fresno.
Mattioli, competing in the consolation singles bracket, fell to Hiro Nakamura of California 8-1. In doubles, Broncos Livesay and Bruggemann fell to the CS Sacramento duo of Joseph Gilbert and Sherif Zaher 8-5 while Duong and Lewis fell to California's Nakamura and Wayne Wong 9-7.
Santa Clara will travel to Stockton next weekend for the Stockcoverage.com Classic, hosted by the University of the Pacific. Matches will be played all day Oct. 13-15.
