SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After a slow start to the match, No. 34 Santa Clara (17-4; 3-1) overcame losing the doubles point to surge through singles play and secure a 6-1 victory over No. 49 Cal Poly. The dual match was highlighted by Kyle Dandan's victory over the nation's No. 20 singles player, Andre Dome.
After going down early, Santa Clara surged back by sweeping singles play. Kyle Dandan, the ITA's No. 111 singles started the singles play with an impressive victory over No. 20 Andre Dome. In the No. 2 spot, John Lamble won in straight sets while Nico Vinel added a two-set victory in the No. 3 spot. Junior Tom Pham (pictured) bested Brian McPhee in the No. 4 spot. Playing in the No. 5 spot, freshman Ilya Osintsev increased his winning streak to 14 matches. Eugene Muchynski added a victory in the No. 6 spot to complete the Bronco comeback.
Looking ahead, Santa Clara hosts WCC foes San Diego and St. Marys on April 13 and April 14, respectively.
