MANTOVA, Italy - The Santa Clara University women's basketball team won two more games this weekend during its summer European tour, defeating Cavezzo Basket 130-38 on Saturday and Basket San Bonifacio 91-50 on Sunday.
Senior forward Tammy Annas led the team in scoring for the second straight game, pouring in 27 points in Saturday win. Fellow frontcourt teammate, senior Julie Butler, added 25. Five other Broncos hit double digits, led by junior Jennie Rondel and sophomore Quinn Thomas with 14 each. Junior Whitney Sutak added 12, while senior Kendra Rhea and sophomore Kim Butler posted 11 and 10 points respectively.
Megan Nelson (9), Courtney Cushing (6) and Jennifer Bradley (2) rounded out the Bronco scoring.
On Sunday night, Kim Butler led Santa Clara in points, with 20, while Sutak chipped in 14. Thomas and Nelson added nine each, while Bradley was right behind them, contributing eight points.
Annas (7), Julie Butler (6), Rhea (6), Cushing (5), Rondel (4) and Huss (3) wrapped up the Broncos' totals.
The team is currently in Venice and will take a rest from basketball on Monday, before playing its fifth and final game Tuesday evening, against Basket Femiminile Reyer Venezia. The team will then travel to Paris on Wednesday before returning to the mission campus this weekend.
