After four road games to open the season, Santa Clara will play the next four of six contests on its home court, the Leavey Center. The Broncos went a perfect 12-0 last season at home, and will look to continue that streak on Wednesday, Dec. 4, against new head coach Michelle Bento's alma mater, Fresno State. Before the holiday break, SCU will also host Loyola-Chicago, Pacific and Arkansas State.
The Broncos open their season with four straight contests on the road. The opener takes place on Friday, Nov. 22 at Lehigh, followed by a Sunday match against ACC Champion Temple in Philadelphia. The Broncos will close out November at the Whataburger Classic, hosted by Texas A&M. "It's going to be a challenge, but it's a good schedule and it will definitely prepare us for what to expect in conference play," Bento said.
The Broncos, who have won at least 20 games and have advanced to the post season in each of the last five seasons, will open West Coast Conference play at home with contests against San Diego, 2002 league champion Pepperdine, and Loyola Marymount.
Santa Clara closes the regular season on the road in the Northwest, taking on Gonzaga and Portland. The annual WCC Tournament is scheduled for March 6-9 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on the University of San Diego campus.
