SCU Athletics to Celebrate Women in Sports

Feb. 3, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - In honor of the 19th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Santa Clara University's Department of Athletics & Recreation and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council will host a variety of activities for young fans, including a "Be a Buddy Night" during the Santa Clara women's basketball game against Gonzaga on Saturday at 7 p.m.

When mentioning Women in Sports Day at the ticket office, young fans will receive $2 admission to the game. Pre-registration is encourage, so young fans can be paired up with a Santa Clara female student-athlete for the game. These buddies will meet prior to tip-off, at 6:30 p.m., and make posters together for when they hang out during the game, providing a glimpse into the world of Division I women's athletics. Juice and cookies will be served at halftime.

Space is limited for this event and RSVPs are required. For more information, or to reserve a place, please call 408-554-4690 or email kidz@scu.edu . Tickets are available by calling 408-554-4660 or by going online at www.SantaClaraBroncos.com.
