Final Stats

CHENEY, Wash. - The road was finally friendly for the Santa Clara women's basketball team Thursday night as they won their first game away from the Leavey Center this season, scoring an 85-54 victory over the Eastern Washington Eagles.

Michelle Cozad posted her second-straight double-double as she scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Three other Broncos scored in double figures as Kayla Huss contributed 12 points and six assists while Chandice Cronk and Kimee Goeggel netted 10 points apiece.

Things stayed competitive for the first 15-plus minutes of action, until the Broncos went on a 13-6 run to end the first half with a 42-29 advantage. Santa Clara then left no doubt from the start of the second half as they rode a 26-7 run to a 68-36 lead with 9:42 remaining.

The 31-point margin of victory was the largest for the Broncos since the opening round of the 2005 WCC Tournament when Santa Clara defeated San Francisco 90-49.

Santa Clara will return home to host the San Jose State Spartans in a Rivalry Series battle at the Leavey Center Saturday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available by calling (408) 554-4660.
