SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's rowing gets its 2021 season underway Saturday at the Port of Sacramento against Saint Mary's and LMU.
This will be the Broncos first race since facing Cal at the Briones Reservoir March 7, 2020. It was their only competition of the season before COVID-19 shutdowns.
"This season has of course been very different, shorter, and uniquely challenging," Santa Clara head coach Matt Pinschmidt said. "Every member of the team wasn't able to come to campus to train and race, so the rowers that are here really want to get the 8 going as fast as they can and represent the whole team. This Saturday is the first chance to do that over 2000 meters. St Mary's has already had a good showing against Portland, so it will be a great opportunity to see where we're at and what we can improve on before WCC Championships."
Adriana Moses and Sophie Wink were named Preseason All-WCC for the Broncos.
