Women's Golf Honored for Community Service

As a component of Santa Clara University's Department of Athletics' partnership with Comcast, we have established a monthly award called the Comcast Community All-Star Award. This honor is intended to highlight the contributions of our student-athletes and teams to our local community.

The first winner of this award is the women's golf team, due to its continuing relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Birdies for Wishes program, benefiting children who are terminally ill.

The award was presented at halftime of the Portland men's basketball game on Saturday. The presentation included Comcast representatives, the women's golf team, head coach Polly Schulze and director of athletics Dan Coonan.

A plaque will hang either in the academic center or the front trophy case that bears the inscription of each month's winners.
