BOISE, Idaho - The Santa Clara women's golf team opened up their Fall season today as they took to the links at Banbury GC for the Bronco Fall Invitational. Paced by transfer Megan Stoddart's two-round leading total of 145 (+3), Santa Clara heads into Tuesday's final round in 11th place with a total team score of 631.

"It is Megan's first tournament playing for Santa Clara and she has played very well today just like we expected her to," said head coach Polly Schulze. "She had never shot under-par since high school prior to her first round this morning."

Stoddart, a transfer from Hawaii playing in her first event as a Bronco, opened things up with a one-under 70 on the Par 71 course to take the individual lead heading into the second round. She followed that up with a 75 in the afternoon session to head into the clubhouse with a one-stroke lead heading into tomorrow's final round.

Corey Utsurogi carded a 75 in the first round, while Samantha Trask and Candice Palmer rounded out the Bronco effort with rounds of 84 and 86, respectively.

In the afternoon session, the Broncos improved as Palmer carded a 79 while Trask shot a round of 80 and Hilaire Fouts carded an 81 to record a team score of 315 for the second round, which, combined with a firstround 315, was good for 11th place.

The Broncos continue play in tomorrow's third and final round at Banbury as Stoddart will seek to go wire-to-wire for the individual title.
