SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 63 Santa Clara women's tennis team picked up its third victory of the dual season with a 4-1 win over Boise State on Saturday. A strong doubles performance propelled the Broncos to 3-3 on the season as they head into West Coast Conference competition against San Francisco on Tues., Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Degheri Tennis Center.

Santa Clara proved too much for Boise State (4-3) on both the doubles and singles sides on Saturday morning in Fresno, Calif. The Broncos started off strong with a commanding 8-4 victory from partners Katie Le and Daniella Silva on court one. The duo tallied their third-straight doubles win this season with the triumph over Boise State's Sandy Vo and Morgan Basil.

Chelby Cooke and Delphine Rouvillois claimed the doubles point for Santa Clara by defeating Megan LaLone and Teal Vosburgh, 8-7(4), on court two. The third and final Bronco partnership of Stephanie Skaras and Nicolette Wolny barely fell in a tiebreaker to Anissa Bryant-Swift and Milena Toseva, 8-7(9).

Going into the singles competition one point ahead of Boise State, Rouvillois continued her win streak by sweeping Toseva on court four, 6-0, 6-0. Rouvillois improves her overall singles record to 4-2 for the dual season.

Skaras found success on court five over Basil. The Bronco won the first-set tiebreaker, 7-6(5), and blanked her opponent, 6-0, in the second. Next off the courts for Santa Clara was Wolny at the No. 6 position. Wolny battled tough against LaLone after dropping the first-set, 6-0. Wolny took command of the next two sets and gave Santa Clara the victory for the day by a final match score of 0-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Santa Clara's No. 1 and No. 3 singles players did not finish their matches once the team point was decided. Boise State's Vo was up 1-6, 7-5, 5-1 on court one over Le, while Silva was tied with Vosburgh 6-7 (2), 6-1, 1-1 when they were stopped.

The Broncos have completed their six-match road trip and return home on Tues., Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m. to face WCC opponent USF. Check back into SantaClaraBroncos.com for all your updated women's tennis news.
