SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University volleyball team has announced four scrimmages as part of the spring season. Head coach Jon Wallace and his returning players have already begun conditioning in preparation for the off-season matches.

The Broncos will play at San Francisco on April 9 and then travel to Portland, Ore., to take part in a tournament Nike is hosting. The Broncos will return to the Bay Area and play at Stanford on April 30.

On May 7, the Broncos will gather at the Leavey Center, to scrimmage against ex-collegiate players, including former Broncos Becky Potter and Kelli Sousa.

Spring practices will focus on fundamental training with each team member, adding technical skill to passing, serving, hitting and blocking abilities. Wallace said they also do functional training, where he breaks the team into groups and focuses on different positions.
