Volleyball Sweeps Third Straight Foe

FORT WORTH, Texas - The 19th-ranked Santa Clara University volleyball team swept its third straight opponent, this time defeating Arkansas-Little Rock 3-0 in continuing action at the TCU adidas Invitational, hosted at the University Recreation Center in Fort Worth. The Broncos improved to 6-2 on the season with the 30-19, 30-23, 30-25 victory. The Trojans fall to 5-5 overall.

Santa Clara was led by Kim McGiven and Anna Cmaylo on the offense, as the pair combined for 21 kills. Freshmen Caroline Walters and Annalisa Muratore led the Broncos defensively, as Walters posted a match-high 14 digs and Muratore recorded eight block assists.

As a team, SCU hit .330 and out-blocked Arkansas-Little Rock by an 11-4 margin. The Bronco held the Trojans to a .071 hitting percentage, including a -.147 clip in the first frame.

Santa Clara will close out play at the tournament tonight against the host Horned Frogs at 5 p.m. Pacific. The match can be followed online via CSTV's Gametracker, located at SantaClaraBroncos.com.
