SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Today, Bronco volleyball announces the second member of its incoming freshman class for 2016-17, Allison Kantor. She currently attends Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo, Calif.
"I chose SCU because it is a great academic school with a great volleyball program," Kantor said. "Santa Clara is in a very good location as a part of the Silicon Valley."
Kantor and the Mustangs went 33-5 overall and 7-1 in the CIFSS Sea View League to win the league title under head coach Craig Moothart last season. Trabuco Hills upset third-seeded Cathedral Catholic and second-seeded Mater Dei on its way to a CIF Division I State Championship semifinal appearance.
The 6-foot prospect was an All-League selection for volleyball in each of the last two seasons as well as a three-time team MVP. Kantor is a three-sport athlete; she earned three straight team MVP honors and three straight All-League selections in soccer for the 2012-14 campaigns. In track & field, Kantor won a 2015 league championship in the long jump.
"Allison is a highly-skilled and explosive athlete that we see making an immediate and big impact on our program," Bronco head coach Jon Wallace said.
Kantor made the 2015 USA Junior Nationals All-Tournament team, and won a national championship with the United Futbol Club Under 13 team in 2011.
Monday's future Bronco is Laura Willems.
