BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Santa Clara women's water polo program was recognized by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and 13 players earned spots on the All-Academic Team.
The Broncos posted a collective team grade-point average of 3.22.
Divided into three teams based on cumulative GPA, athletes received Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) or Excellent (3.40-3.20) distinction.
Mia Battilega and Gabi Sicat were on the outstanding list; Maggie Oys, Lydia Dadd and Alexa Grau, were in the superior category; Kendra Bean, Emma Allegrucci, Kelly Frumkin, Julia Mozilo, Maddie Perna, Annie Eldredge, Hannah Buck and Maddie Macdonald earned excellent status.
Oys, Allegrucci, and Macdonald are all two-time honorees.
Santa Clara was one of 35 programs in all levels of NCAA water polo to post a team GPA of 3.20 or higher.
The Broncos also had 11 players earn a spot on the Golden Coast Conference All-Academic team.
