Santa Clara ends its East Coast road trip when it plays at the University of New Hampshire on Sun., Jan. 4 at 10 am (Pacific) for the first time in school history. It is also the two school's first meeting.
Santa Clara is 7-8 this season and is playing its fourth game in seven days. Santa Clara defeated Belmont 83-80 Monday, won the Cable Car Classic with an 89-88 overtime win over UTEP on Tuesday and lost at Harvard 73-68 on Friday.
New Hampshire is 3-7 this season under fourth year head coach Bill Herrion.
The SCU-New Hampshire game will be broadcast live at 10 am via the Bronco Radio Network, on both KDOW 1220 AM and Broncos All-Access on the web at www.SantaClaraBroncos.com. It is being tape-delayed due to programming on KDOW with the 9:30 am start. Anthony Passarelli is in his second season as the Santa Clara men's basketball play-by-play announcer after six seasons of handling those duties for SCU women's basketball.
WCC Play Starts Fast
Santa Clara starts conference play maybe as quick as any team in the country this week with three of four on the road. In its first three games, Santa Clara is tabbed to play the top three teams in the WCC from a year ago with all three making the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
Santa Clara will play at Saint Mary's on Thurs., Jan. 9 on ESPNU at 8 pm. The Broncos return home to host San Diego on Sat., Jan. 11 at 2 pm on COMCAST. The next week the Broncos will travel to Gonzaga on Jan. 15 for a televised 6 pm contest and then to Portland on Jan. 17 for a 7 pm tilt.
