STANFORD, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's golf team finished 14th at the 2009 U.S. Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Stanford University. The Broncos were led by junior Jimmy Cacho and freshman Ronnald Monaco, who tied for 40th place overall.

Cacho shot a team-best 70 in the first round, but faced a set back with a round of 76 in the second round. He rebounded with a team-best 67 in the third and final round to finish with a score of 213 (+3).

Monaco shot 73 and 71 in the first and second rounds, respectively. He then posted a 69 in the third and final round to tie Cacho with a score of 213.

Freshman Cory Mehl, who entered the tournament after a strong fourth place finish at the West Coast Conference Championships last weekend, tied for 63rd with a score of 220 (+10/75-74-71). Meanwhile, senior Jonathan Keane tied for 74th with a score of 224 (+14/73-75-76) and sophomore Tyler Ichikawa tied for 80th overall, shooting 229 (+19/77-75-77).

The Washington Huskies were the team champions with a score of 804 (-36), while the individual title went to Washington's Nick Taylor. He shot rounds of 69-66-63 to finish 12-under par 198.
