SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University Associate Men's Soccer Head Coach Eric Yamamoto is serving on the U-23 US National Team staff as its goalkeeper coach. The US is currently competing in the 2012 The CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament, aiming to secure a berth into the upcoming 2012 London Olympics.

Yamamoto took the time to do a brief Q/A with ussoccer.com. Click here to read the full Q/A.

The team got off to a terrific start last night at the qualifying event in Nashville, Tenn., getting three goals from Joe Corona, one goal from Juan Agudelo and one from team captain Freddy Adu to go on and rout Cuba 6-0.

In its quest for a bid into the 2012 Olympics, the CONCACAF's top eight teams are split into two groups, one playing at Nashville's LP Field and the other at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals, which will take place at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan., with the eventual finalists each earning tickets to London.

Yamamoto and the US side will continue Group A play against Canada March 24 at LP Field at 7 p.m. ET on Universal Sports Network, mun2 and CONCACAF.com.
