Men’s Soccer Newcomer – Jack Stoecker

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer welcomed Jack Stoecker, a multi-sport goalkeeper who helped lead Broomfield High School to the Colorado 5A state championship in 2019, to join the program this fall.

"I chose Santa Clara because they had the major I wanted, their campus is beautiful and they have great facilities, great academics as well as a successful soccer program," said Stoecker who intends to major in business.

Stoecker captained the 2019 Eagles squad that finished ranked No. 19 nationally by Maxpreps.com.  The six-foot-six goalkeeper posted some gaudy numbers with a .517 goals-against-average and .912 save percentage, tops among all goalkeepers in Colorado's 5A classification.

He was also a two-time Colorado Club Soccer spring State Cup Champion with the Westmindster AFC U18 club in 2019 and the U17 club in 2018 and a four-time all-state academic honoree.

"Jack is a great athlete," said Broncos head coach Cam Rast.  "He played basketball and soccer so he's a multi-sport athlete which allowed him to develop two critical areas, hand-eye coordination and footwork, that are crucial in producing great athletes.  Plus he is 6-foot-6, which only bodes well for being impactful for his future here."
