AS A GRADUATE STUDENT (2020-21 - played in the spring of 2021): Named All-WCC Second Team Singles, WCC All-Academic and ITA Scholar-Athlete ... played in the top three spots of the singles lineup all season going 8-7 ... went 2-3 atop the singles lineup, 3-2 at No. 2 and 3-2 at No. 3 ... won eight of the last 10 singles matches including two wins in a week at No. 1 to be tabbed Intercollegiate Tennis Association Universal Tennis Rating Division I National Player of the Week ... first Santa Clara tennis player, men or women, to win the coveted ITA UTR Division I National Player of the Week honors ... in doubles, posted a 6-6 record to tie for the team lead in wins with Arthur Neuhaus ... went 1-3 atop the doubles lineup and 5-3 at No. 2 ... primarily paired with Guillaume Dalmasso where the duo went 5-3 ... won four out of the last five doubles matches that were finished. 
 
PRIOR TO SANTA CLARA: Two-time co-captain at Cal ... in four years, compiled a 48-29 singles and 33-39 doubles record before his senior season was cut short with the shutdown of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
AS A SENIOR IN 2019-20 (at Cal): Ended the season with a 12-4 singles record and a 1-2 doubles mark ...  won 11 of his last 12 completed singles matches ... FALL: Posted a 11-4 singles record and 1-2 in doubles … captured the top-flight singles title at the UCSB Classic, winning four matches and ultimately defeating Stanford’s Neel Rajesh, 1-6, 7-5, 6-2, in the championship final … had a strong singles run in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, winning three matches to advance to the round of 16 … he won three straight in singles at Harvard’s Chowder Fest in Boston to close out the fall ... SPRING: Went 1-0 in singles action beating San Francisco’s Johan Garpered  6-2, 6-1 that clinched Cal’s win over the Dons. 

AS A JUNIOR IN 2018-19 (at Cal): Completed his third season with an 11-9 singles record (including a 4-2 court-six record) and 9-5 doubles record ... FALL: Was 7-7 in singles and 6-4 in doubles in the fall…partnered with Mert Zincirli to win the doubles title at the Aggie Invitational at UC Davis … won three straight to reach the singles semifinals at the Aggie Invitational ... SPRING: … against Nevada on March 24, he teamed with Bjorn Hoffmann to clinch the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Dylan Levitt and Benjamin Campi and later clinched the overall, 4-0 victory with a 6-1, 7-5 result over Gvidas Motuzas at court-six singles.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2017-18 (at Cal): Finished 13-6 in singles and 14-18 in doubles on the year ... FALL: Posted 11-4 singles and 5-6 doubles records…advanced to the singles round of 16 in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships ... beat Nevada’s Jeremy Merville, 6-2, 6-2, to win the B singles title at the Aggie Invitational at UC Davis ... reached the doubles quarterfinals at regionals and in the Battle in the Bay Classic with teammate and younger brother Paul Barretto ... SPRING: Was 2-2 in dual-match singles play … teamed primarily with Can Kaya in the dual-match season, with the pair posting a 6-7 record overall (5-6 in dual matches).
 
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2016-17 (at Cal): Finished his first collegiate season with a 12-10 singles record and 9-5 doubles record ... FALL: Recorded an 11-5 singles record…reached the finals of his second tournament at the Aggie Invitational, falling to Eli Whittle of host UC Davis, 7-6(5), 6-2 ... SPRING: Notched first dual-match clinching win against San Diego, as he beat Alexandros Araouzos, 6-3, 7-5, at court-six singles ... was 5-0 in doubles in dual matches.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Redwood High School (Larkspur, California) in freshman and sophomore years, earning many accolades including winning MCAL and NCS doubles and individual championships in his freshman year… won MCAL and NCS doubles championship with younger brother (Paul) in his sophomore year of high school play…became first player in NCS to win doubles championships two years in a row.

PERSONAL: Dad, Eddie Barretto,  played tennis at the University of San Francisco and on the pro tour… mother, Ana Barretto, is a nurse … younger brother Paul Barretto is currently on the Cal men's tennis squad ... older brother, Marco, played for the University of San Francisco men's tennis team ... hobbies include basketball and ping-pong.
