Forman-Lau Earns PCSC Honors

April 21, 2004

LOS ANGELES - Santa Clara University softball pitcher Jaime Forman-Lau earned her second weekly honor of the season from the Pacific Coast Softball Conference, for outstanding performances in key league contests this past week.

Forman-Lau, a San Jose native, also received Pitcher of the Week honors in March, while earning the award a conference-record seven times in 2003. This past week, she went 3-1 in the circle and posted a 2.42 ERA. She struck out 26 batters in 26 innings without allowing a single walk. Forman-Lau allowed nine earned runs, only four of which were to league opponents.

An offensive threat as well, Forman-Lau batted .444, going 4-9 at the plate. She hit a home run against Saint Mary's and finished with weekend with two RBIs and one run scored.

San Diego's Kim Delpit was named the conference's Player of the Week.

Santa Clara (22-23, 8-4) will close out the PCSC season on the road, with trips to San Diego and Sacramento State. The Broncos will play the Toreros this weekend, and visit the Hornets the first weekend in May. All four doubleheaders are scheduled for noon starts at their respective venues.
