MANOA, Hawai'i - The Santa Clara softball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Oregon State, in their lone game of the day at the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament. The Broncos, 2-12 overall, tallied two hits and a walk on the day. Freshman Briana Knight posted her 14th career hit to lead off the top of the first inning. The SCU outfielder leads Santa Clara this season with a .333 batting average, 10 RBIs, seven doubles and two home runs.
Designated hitter Jenna Fong, who earned her first win of the season at pitcher on Saturday versus Mount Saint Mary's, had SCU's second hit. With two outs, Fong singled up the middle in the seventh.
Junior Kaitlyn Rauschnot pitched her first complete game versus the Beavers, allowing only seven hits in 24 at bats, three runs and a walk. She posted three strikeouts in the game, bringing her season total to 10.
The Broncos conclude play in Hawai'i on Sunday versus Florida Gulf Coast at 4 p.m. PT.
