AS A JUNIOR IN 2009: Made 18 appearances on the year, starting in 12 ... tossed two complete games ... finished second on the team with a 4.85 ERA ... posted a 5-5 record and totaled 67 strikeouts ... made his first appearance of the season in relief against NC State (Feb. 22) during the opening weekend, throwing three innings and striking out four ... made his first start of the season against Oregon (Mar. 7), going 6 1/3 innings and striking out five ... earned his first win of the season after six quality innings against Cornell (Mar. 15), allowing just one run on three hits and striking out four ... registered another win after seven no-hit innings against Dartmouth (Mar. 21), also struck out a career-high 11 batters ... named the `WCC Pitcher of the Week' (Mar. 23) ... earned his first save of the season after one inning against Portland (Apr. 11) ... registered win No. 3 against Portland (Apr. 11), tossing 6 2/3 scoreless innings and striking out eight ... earned win No. 4 and his first collegiate complete game against San Diego State (May 2), surrendering just two runs on four hits and striking out seven ... tossed his second career complete game for the series win against St. Mary's (May 10).

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2008: Made 19 appearances, starting eight games ... finished the season fifth on the team in ERA (5.77) and wins (3) ... was second on the squad in saves (3) and innings pitched (64.0) ... struck out a then-career-high four batters in 2 1/3 innings against Utah Valley (Feb. 22) ... earned his first save of the season after pitching three innings and fanning three against San Jose State (Feb. 29) ... picked up his second save of the season to help the Broncos win the `Rivalry Series' with San Jose State ... threw a then-career-high 4 23 innings against then-No. 11 San Diego (Mar. 6) ... tallied his third save of the season against Cal Poly (Mar. 12) ... threw a career-high 7.1 inning and struck out a then-personal-best six batters in game two of the doubleheader against UC Davis (Mar. 15) ... struck out a career-high seven batters against Portland (Apr. 5) ... earned his second win of the season against USF (Apr. 20), tying his career-high seven batters struck out ... registered his third win of the season against Hawaii Hilo (Apr. 27) ... tossed three innings, striking out two against then-No. 13 Pepperdine (May 18) ... closed out the season with two innings of work against Pacific (May 20).

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007: Did not allow an earned run in eight straight outings from March 30-Apr. 27 and was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team ... Made 27 relief appearances on the year ... went 2-2 with a 3.35 ERA ... 33 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched ... struck out three batters in 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against Utah (Feb. 2) ... earned first win by going 3 2/3 scoreless innings and striking out two at Portland (March 30) ... played shortstop in the ninth inning of an 11-1 win over Loyola Marymount on Apr. 29 and made an assist ... picked up his second win by striking out one in the final inning during a comeback win over then-No. 6 San Diego (May 13).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Tokay High School in Lodi, Calif ... led Tokay to the 2005 South Section title ... team was 2006 Tri-City League Champions 2006 ... also in 2006 was named Tri-City Athletic Association MVP, Stockton Record `Player of the Year', CalHiSports.com All-State Second Team honoree, Louisville Slugger All-America Honorable Mention, top 200 recruit according to Baseball America ... played for Coach Aaron Misasi and Paul Lovotti.

PERSONAL: Born in Long Beach, Calif ... son of John and Gina Rivers ... has three younger siblings, Lauren, Brett and Kyle ... enjoys hanging out with friends, video games, and playing golf.
