SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) named Hayden Shieh of Santa Clara men's golf to the Division I PING All-West Region team.
Shieh, a junior, made his third-straight appearance in the NCAA Championships, participating in the Stanford regional earlier this month.
He competed in 11 events on the year, posting seven top 10 finishes, including a runner-up showing at the WCC Championships (April 20-22 in Provo, Utah), falling in a playoff to BYU's Peter Kuest. It still marked the best-ever finish by a Santa Clara golfer at the league tournament.
At the conclusion of the regular season, Shieh ranked No. 88 in the nation according to head-to-head player rankings of Golfstat.com. He posted a 70.70 stroke average on the season.
Shieh was a first-team All-West Coast Conference selection for the second-straight season.
