SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Zach Litoff was named Preseason All-WCC for Santa Clara cross country as the men's team was picked fourth and the women were picked to finish fifth in a poll of the league's head coaches.

Litoff was a First Team All-WCC pick last season after finishing eighth overall at the West Coast Conference Championships in October with a time of 23:46.4, a personal best.

At the 2021 WCC Championships, the men came in fourth with Litoff, Nicholas Russell (18th, 24:12.3), Ian Twyman (22nd, 24:21.2), Jorge Estrella (36th, 24:58.8), and Spencer Fischer (41st, 25:15.2) all scoring. They return all five runners.

The women came in fifth with Abbey Meck's 27th place finish in 21:49.9 pacing the squad. JJ Escalera (30th, 22:02.9), Kinsey Hall (38th, 22:25.9), Hannah Covington (44th, 22:37.5), and Kaitlyn Twadell (47th, 22:45.8) also scoring. They return Meck, Escalera, and Hall.

The season begins Saturday at the USF Invitational.
