After a one-year hiatus, the Santa Clara University women's basketball team is bringing back its annual Shoot-a-Thon. This year's event is scheduled for Thursday, May 26, from 6-9 p.m.

The Shoot-a-Thon will be held in the Leavey Center on the SCU campus. Each sponsored shooter will take a total of 100 shots: 50 shots will be on the perimeter and 50 shots will be lay-ups. It is at the discretion of the shooter as to what order the shots will be taken. Each made basket is worth 2 points, allowing a shooter can earn a maximum of 200 points. There is no time limit to complete the 100 shots.

At the end of the evening, the top point scorer from the team and the top "non-player" scorer will face off in a championship match.

Those wishing to support the program can donate in one of two ways, as pledges can be made as flat dollar amount or as an amount per shot made. In the past, Bronco shooters have averaged 80 made shots out of the 100. To assist donation calculations, a chart estimating several possible amounts that might result is available on the sponsor sign-up PDF at the top of the page.

Please contact assistant coach Jenn Bradley with questions or entries, via email at jbradley@scu.edu or via phone at 408-551-1788.
