Dow joined the Broncos in May 2000 after spending the previous season as the interim head coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to his stint at UT San Antonio, Dow served as an assistant coach at UC Irvine from 1996-99, serving two of those years with Bronco assistant coach Benita Martin, and working primarily with the guards. He also spent four years as an assistant coach at New Mexico State. From 1992-96, the Aggies compiled an 81-38 (.681) overall record, capturing a Big West Championship and appearing in the WNIT. As head recruiting coordinator, Dow's 1993 class was ranked among the top 25 in the nation.
"Jeff's experience is invaluable," head coach Chris Denker said. "He's been a head coach before, he has a great defensive mind and he's coached post players that have moved on to the WNBA. He brings a lot to our program."
After beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Oregon during the 1989-90 season, Dow served as an assistant coach at Texas A&M University at Kingsville the following year. He was promoted to interim head coach during the season and led the team--that finished 6-20 the year before and was picked to finish last in the conference--to a 13-15 mark, placing third in league standings. While at Kingsville, Dow recruited Patricia Rivers, who was later named the greatest female athlete in the school's history.
Dow graduated from Oregon in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and physical education and followed with a master's in physical education in 1991. He resides in San Jose.
