"Coach Jackson did a tremendous job in her first year at Santa Clara," head coach Michelle Bento said. "It is tough coming into a situation and having to learn a completely new system, and I cannot be happier with how she has handled everything. She has grown a great deal as a coach and I know she will work extremely hard to continue to excel. Work ethic and loyalty are two main qualities that a head coach looks for in an assistant and I feel very fortunate to have found both of those in Trimeka."
Jackson joined Santa Clara after spending four seasons at Cal State Fullerton, including the last two as the Titans' recruiting coordinator. Additionally, she worked with the development of the post players and aided in the expansion of community outreach programs.
"Santa Clara is a prestigious university and it is an honor for me to be surrounded by student-athletes who want to excel both academically and athletically," she said. "Our student-athletes understand the meaning of hard work, dedication and discipline, and thus are aware there is no short cut to success. Additionally, Coach Bento has tremendous vision for this program and every goal that she has set out for this team to achieve will come to fruition with commitment and hard work."
As a player, Jackson competed as a forward at Long Beach City College and Cal State Dominguez Hills, where she led the Toros to their first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.
After graduating with a degree in sociology from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 1996, Jackson immediately began her coaching career as an assistant for three seasons at her alma mater. During her first season as an assistant, the Toros repeated as league champions and returned to the NCAA Tournament.
