PHOENIX — Santa Clara beach volleyball capped its Arizona trip with a loss at No. 15 Grand Canyon on Sunday. The Broncos, playing for the fifth time in three days, fell 5-0 to the Antelopes at GCU Beach Volleyball Stadium.
The Antelopes (19-8) extended their winning streak to four duals. The Broncos (2-13) faced ranked opposition three times over the last three days, including a pair of matchups against No. 13 Arizona. Caroline Caruso played her first official match for Santa Clara at the No. 1 spot alongside Michelle Gajdka.
"Playing three matches against ranked teams this weekend was a great learning experience for us and will prepare as well for next weekend at the conference tournament against teams like Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, and Saint Mary's," associate head coach Jeff Alzina said.
