SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The numbers have been tabulated and Santa Clara Athletics set a record on Day of Giving.
The Broncos led all University departments with 1,955 total gifts and $483,720 raised, which will help to support each of our 20 sports.
Following Athetics was the Santa Clara Fund which had 521 total gifts and Leavey School of Business with $252,964 in donations.
The total number of gifts to Athletics was a record-breaking mark, an increase of 7.4 percent compared to last year (1,820). Total dollars ranked second most for Athletics to 2016 ($853,743) when there was one gift included for $400,000.
"Once again, Bronco Nation rose to the occasion and showed amazing support for our student-athletes and coaches," director of athletics Renee Baumgartner said. "Day of Giving is a very significant each year for our department and we're grateful for our awesome alums, donors and friends who rallied to donate. Stampede Ahead, Stampede Together. Go Broncos!"
Among the school's sports, men's rowing led the way in both total gifts (328) and donations ($111,310).
