SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Maria Sanchez of women's soccer and Robert Seby of men's tennis have been named the SAAC Broncos of the Month for January.

Sanchez was selected 15th overall by the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League College Draft on Jan. 10.

She was First Team All-West Region and First Team All-WCC during the 2018 season and led the nation with 16 assists despite missing three games while playing with the Mexican National Team. She twice tied a program record with four assists in a game.

Seby garnered the first conference weekly tennis award being named WCC Men's Singles Player of the Week.  Seby got the match clinchers against Liberty and Washington on Feb. 2nd and 3rd when the Broncos beat Liberty, 6-1, and Washington, 4-3.

Against Liberty, Seby beat Steve Mundt, 6-2, 6-1, in a neutral site match.

Against the Huskies, with the match tied at 3-3, Seby took down Sebastian Hawken in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, to clinch the 4-3 thriller on the road.
