Women's Soccer Hosts No. 2 Stanford Sunday Night

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After completing a tough four-game road trip, Santa Clara women's soccer returns home to face No. 2 Stanford Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

The Broncos topped Seattle 4-1 Monday afternoon to conclude a four-game road trip on a high note.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 20-21-7 all-time against Stanford, having won two of the last three meetings. Last season the Broncos beat the Cardinal 1-0 in double overtime on the road in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The last regular season meeting at Stevens Stadium was a 1-0 Santa Clara victory in 2015.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (3-4-1) had its best offensive output in almost two years on Monday when the Broncos scored four first half goals at Seattle. They have now scored 14 goals on the year and put 46 of their 101 shots on goal while drawing 44 corner kicks.

Maddy Gonzalez leads the team with four goals and is second with eight points. Maria Sanchez has a team-high nine points and leads the way with three assists. She is tied for second with three goals. Julie Doyle has also scored three goals while Kelsey Turnbow has scored twice and has two assists.

Melissa Lowder and Courtney Ogren have split time in net over the first eight games of the year. Ogren has allowed three goals and has a 0.93 GAA. She has made eight saves for a .727 save percentage. Lowder has picked up 23 saves with a .639 save percentage.

THE CARDINAL
Stanford (6-1) has won four in a row after dropping a 3-2 contest at No. 8 Florida in the third game of the season. Those were the only goals the Cardinal have allowed all season and Stanford has outscored its opponents 26-0 during its winning streak.

The Cardinal have outscored their opponents 37-3 overall and have the highest scoring offense in the country. They have a 183-30 edge in shots and a 91-13 advantage in shots on goal. Stanford has drawn 49 corner kicks and surrendered 17.

Catarina Macario leads the team and is tied for third in the nation with eight goals. She is second on the team with four assists and second in the country with 20 points. Kyra Carusa has scored seven goals, tied for sixth in the NCAA, and added one assist. Jordan DiBiasi and Andi Sullivan are tied for the team lead with five assists each, tied for ninth in the country. A total of 14 players have scored for Stanford with 16 picking up an assist.

Alison Jahansouz has allowed three goals for a 0.75 GAA and has made six saves for a .667 save percentage in four games. In three games, Lauren Rood hasn't allowed a goal and made two saves. Jahansouz has two shutouts and Rood has three.

Promotions: All Ruff Riders are invited to attend the first match of the academic school year as part of Welcome Weekend. Ruff Riders will meet at the on-campus bronco statue at 6:15 p.m. and head over to Alumni park where active Ruff Riders will be able to claim their 2017-18 shirts until 7 p.m.

From gates open through the end of halftime, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the Domain Hotel, San Jose Sharks, and the City of Santa Clara will have booths set up on the concourse with information, items for sale, and special deals. The City of Santa Clara will be serving ice cream to kids.

Parking: For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
